Description
This short module will give an understanding of chlamydia: when to test, how to prevent it and the importance of contact tracing. This will increase your knowledge and confidence in supporting clients and providing education about chlamydia.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this module you should be able to:
- Explain to a client what chlamydia is and how it is passed between people.
- Identify at risk groups who should be offered testing for chlamydia.
- Recognise the barriers and stigma related to testing for sexually transmitted infections.
- Explain that medicines are available to treat chlamydia.
- Explain why contact tracing is required.
- Communicate confidently with your clients about chlamydia.
