Description
This 1 hour module on prostate cancer covers the essential topics such as screening methods, including PSA tests and physical examination, and the importance of early detection. It will delve into various diagnostic tests, explaining their role in diagnosing and monitoring prostate cancer. The module will also explore different treatment options, including surgery, radiation, and hormone therapy. The module contains presentation of male anatomy and some content that could be considered Men’s Business.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this module you should be able to:
- Explain the importance of awareness of prostate cancer symptoms and risks.
- Describe the Importance of various tests for prostate cancer, such as PSA tests, physical examination, blood tests and scans and how they help in diagnosing and monitoring the disease.
- Outline the different treatment options for prostate cancer according to current clinical guidelines.
- Develop a holistic care plan that involves collaboration with other health professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with prostate cancer.
- Practice effective communication to discuss prostate cancer screening, test results, and treatment options with the patients and their families in a culturally sensitive manner.
